Diamond Light Facial

FAQ

What is a Diamond Light Facial?

A 90 minute remarkably effective facial treatment unlike any facial we now offer. This treatment combines the exfoliation of Microdermabrasion and the dermal healing qualities of LED Light Therapy.

What is microdermabrasion?

It is a method of providing a peel to the epidermis. It uses a unique system composed of a compressor and a suction pump that work in unison to project sterile Aluminum Oxide crystals onto the skin with controllable intensity. The unit simultaneously vacuums the area and removes the exfoliated skin cells leaving the skin instantly smoother.

The method of abrasion was derived from uses in general industry and was originally adapted for its medical use by physicians in Europe to treat skin irregularities.

What is different about our Microdermabrasion?

We use both aluminum oxide and organic crystals in one treatment. Most systems use only aluminum oxide which will leave the skin smooth but not as smooth as it could be by using both. Yes, it takes a bit more time for the treatment.

Also, if you have extremely sensitive skin we have the option of using the organic crystals alone. Now it's your choice: organic grains, diamond crystals, or both. Ours is a unique dual peel system with real treatment versatility.

What is LED Light Therapy?

The latest in skin care technology. It delivers powerful therapeutic benefits to living tissues and has a positive effect on the bodies' ability to repair tissues. Light Therapy is painless, soothing and 100% safe. It is the ultimate compliment to microdermabrasion.

What does LED mean?

What does LED mean to my skin in a nutshell?

After 6 treatments you will see a remarkable difference. Your skin will be renewed, soft and supple.

What conditions can be treated?

Conditions such as facial lines, (especially around the eyes and mouth), course skin, hyper-pigmentation or uneven pigmentation, age spots, uneven pores, sun damage, acne scarring and bumpy skin can all benefit from microdermabrasion and light therapy treatments.

Clinical trials have been done regarding the effectiveness of dermabrasion for stretch marks. Our results have found that taking the color out of stretch marks allows them to become less noticeable, though it does not eliminate the stretch marks entirely. People who have been treated for stretch marks with microdermabrasion have been very pleased with the results.

What are the complications and contraindications for this type of procedure?

Undiagnosed lesions - Recent herpes outbreaks
Warts - Active, weeping acne (stages 3-4)
Rosacea - Unstable diabetes
Auto-immune system disorders

How frequently, and in what time intervals, must these treatments be provided?

Optimally, every 10-14 days to allow skin to heal. Treatments should be provided with the realistic outcome in mind. Because it is a cumulative treatment, normally a package of 6 or more is suggested for retainable, tangible results.

We recommend a follow-up treatment every 3 months.

Why do you use both Microdermabrasion and Light Therapy?

The goal of microdermabrasion exfoliates the skin leaving the surface smooth, soft and renewed. We opted to enhance the treatment with light therapy to stimulate collagen production and gives the skin a radiant glow. This combination results in the greatest benefit to our clients. Yes, it is unique for the skin care industry.
